I have been trying to accessorize my bedroom for quite some time, I just was not sure what exactly I wanted to bring in.
The wall across from my bed was just a blank canvas waiting for someone to hang some art...I was simply trying to find the right pieces.
Michael's recently had a sale on their frames, 50% off any wall frame in the store. I snatched two large white frames at $20.00 for the pair. I knew I wanted them for my room, I was just not sure what to put in them. I tried searching online for prints to frame, but nothing seemed to work. Plus I hate to spend the money on something I am not sure of.
It was a blog I stumbled across that did beautiful initial art out of wall paper. I thought I could do that, but I didn't have any wallpaper to work with. I did however have chalkboard paint which I thought might be fun to try and work with.
I painted a thick piece of cardboard and then drew a j & j on it and tried it in the frame. I really like it. It's personal, which is exactly what a bedroom should be. And then for the other frame, I did our anniversary.
For the center, I thought it would be fun to put pictures of us...because we are such vain people. Sooo Kidding. But again, I wanted to keep the bedroom personal and romantic.

I also added some pictures of our girls to the mix. They do spend a lot of time with me in our bed. We watch movies and relax on cold afternoons in there.

I also placed small mirrors under a few lamps to bounce light. Anything to make the room feel bigger, as our master bedroom is not exactly masterful in its smaller size.

I also found a vintage mirror at one of our local resale shops. I love the detail at the top, tarnish and all :-)

I thought it would be a nice addition for the blank wall above our bed.
We still have a lot to do, crown molding, mini chandelier for over bed...and I have something fun I am refinishing for the room as well that I can't wait to bring in. So it is still a work in progress, but it's getting there!

That turned out awesome. Love the idea of framing the chalkboard date and intials. Awesome. You so crafty.
