A bit O Whimsy

Isabelle informed me that she wanted a "Princess bed." To that I replied, "You have a beautiful bed, what do you mean by princess bed?"

Our convo went something like this.

"Mommy, I want my bed to have the blankets that come down."

"The blankets that comes down? Your blankets pull back so you can go under them....what do you mean by come down?"

"Mommy, the blankets that hang down around the bed."

In other words, she was talking about a canopy.

I had a canopy growing up and I loved it. It was a surprise for my 11th birthday???? I think....Pretty sure 11.

I loved that bed, and I remember the excitement I had seeing my new room for the first time once it was all set up.

Isabelle's bed is not designed for a canopy, but I was going to work with it, and I am glad I did. What came of it is pretty adorable.

Just a small curtain rod for over the bed, and two long drapery panels to give the illusion.

Isabelle loves her bed. The only purchase I needed to make was for the panels, and 7 bucks a panel, my total was 14 smack-ah-roos!
